Voto Latino, Mi Familia Vota Education Fund, and iAmerica launch a National Voter Registration Drive Aimed at the Latino Community

WASHINGTON, D.C - Sept. 15, 2015 - Today, we are joining Voto Latino, Mi Familia Vota, and iAmerica in launching an on-the-ground and digital voter registration campaign around the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The campaign urges Latinos to register to vote and encourage their colleagues, family, and friends to do the same in preparation for the upcoming presidential election.

The campaign will launch Hispanic Heritage Month of Action, and will challenge Latinos to leave an everlasting legacy in American history. This month of action will consist of three main events:
September 15 (first day of Hispanic Heritage Month of Action), September 22 (National Voter Registration Day), and October 15 (the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month of Action).

Hispanic Heritage Month of Action was first launched in 2014, and garnered over 80 partners in two weeks, and over 200 million social media impressions. This year, the campaign aims to make this month of action the cornerstone voter registration initiative for 2015 and 2016.  Hispanic Heritage Month of Action uses digital and social media assets, on the ground outreach, and strategies to reach young Latino voters. The initiative is being led online by Voto Latino, on-the-ground in states like California and Arizona by Mi Familia Vota, and nationally by campaigns like iAmerica.
