Today, the Obama Administration announced plans to limit methane emissions from existing industrial oil and gas facilities. The following is a statement from Adrianna Quintero, director of Voces Verdes:

“Controlling methane emissions is one of the most important steps we can take towards fighting climate change. Methane emissions from oil and gas production are the second largest industrial source of climate-changing pollution. Latinos have repeatedly called for action on climate. Most recently, 40 of the largest Latino advocacy organizations that make up the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, included climate action in their 2016 Hispanic Policy Agenda recognizing the impacts climate change will have on our community’s health and well-being.

We welcome the administration's commitment to fighting climate change and look forward to working with them to protect our communities and our planet.”
